Which is the new Redmi device Xiaomi is working on? Let's find out:
The upcoming Redmi smartphone's development has been tipped by Abhishek Yadav on Twitter. The image and the camera specs of the device were initially leaked by Digital Chat Station on Weibo. The image shows a Redmi handset with a massive camera setup covering the upper half of the back panel; something similar to the Mi 11 Ultra.
Interestingly, the suggested Redmi handset is also said to feature a 50MP 1/1.12-inch GN2 primary camera as the Mi 11 Ultra. This sensor has an f/1.95 aperture and an OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support.
Speaking of the remaining sensors, the tipster suggests the 50MP main camera will be combined with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/1.24 aperture and a 123-degree FoV. There will be an 8MP telephoto sensor with OIS and an additional periscope sensor with up to 50x zoom.
That's all the tipster has suggested on the upcoming Redmi smartphone. However, the camera specifications alone hint at a premium Redmi smartphone in the making. We can expect the device to offer a flagship-grade Snapdragon or Dimensity processor. Since it is new at the rumor mill more details are yet to surface.
The moniker of the handset is also not known, so this would be hard to guess if the upcoming device would come as a part of Redmi Note or the Redmi K smartphone lineup. Also, with the Redmi Note 10 5G series launch round the corner, there are slim chances we get to see this 50MP Redmi smartphone launch alongside the same series.
But we never know, Xiaomi could have a surprise for the Redmi Note fans. That's just speculation and we would suggest you wait until some more authentic details on this handset emerge.
